The Lord Mayor of Belfast becomes chums with the sheep Ireland was a blast – hard work tough doing ‘Pop-up’ galleries all over the place. Met some great people had some fantastic meals (a reinactment of the last meal on the Titanic at Dean’s restaurant was a highlight) and was warmed by the kindness of the Irish people. Needed longer though to explore the country ouside of Belfast itself though. To Leo for co-ordinatingnd and conceiving the idea, Kay and Jan of Equinox for hosting me and being my tour guides, Jasmine for having me to stay, Jen for the biltong and Mark at Chaka Travel helping to sponsor the opening event, Anisa, Duncan Spence for making the trip to share in the experience, (and for copiuos quantities of Rickety Bridge wine) publisher of the wine book, Chris Andrews for being there, the staff of Equinox, the Fitzwilliam hotel for having me to stay, Aer Lingus and all those who helped make this trip a fun event.
